The free GX900 ExView™ for Android app allows users to view and record data from the Extech GX900 multimeter on most Android phones or tablets, up to 10 meters (30 feet) away. The GX900 transmits readings in real time using Bluetooth®-based technology developed by Extech and FLIR.
Now, building electricians and electrical technicians can view key electrical readings taken by the GX900 at a safe distance, power up equipment from remote switches, or use an Android device to show readings to a customer/manager. The GX900 will display information on its built-in monitor and Android mobile device, simultaneously.
Another important feature of the GX900 ExView™ for Android app is its ability to record electrical measurements using the GX900’s datalogging feature. The GX900 itself has enough memory to record up to 2,500 voltage readings with date and time stamp. However, the Android app has its own record mode and can use the phone’s memory to record even more readings, depending on the amount of memory space available.
The GX900 is also a graphical multimeter that can show trends within a given electrical parameter you would like to measure over time. The Android application will display both numbers and graphical information on screen.
Additionally, no PC or wireless transmitter/receiver dongle or other accessory is required to view readings remotely. The GX900 makes it convenient to show measurements to customers or managers at safe distances.
The GX900 ExView for Android app is only one part of Extech & FLIR’s “Diagnostic Ecosystem” approach to effective troubleshooting. Extech and FLIR are committed to offering increased connectivity among Extech meters, FLIR infrared thermal imaging cameras and personal devices like tablets and smartphones. Add the convenience of anytime/anywhere remote viewing and datalogging from your GX900 to your Android smartphone today.
